Outlanders was my senior capstone project at New Hampshire Technical Institute. It was a massive undertaking, where nearly everyone was learning how to do their tasks as they did them.

What I did…

  • Architected and developed character ability and stat systems
  • Balanced gameplay systems based on results from playtest groups
  • Developed player HUD backend using Scaleform and Flash Actionscript 3
  • Developed networking for character abilities and stats
  • Audio and music composition, production, and programming

This game could be called a Multiplayer Online Battle Arena, but it is quite unlike your standard MOBA (League of Legends, Dota, etc). The movement feels like Quake, the combat feels like Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, and the abilities/stats feel like Hi-Rez Studios’ Smite.
